Many of the city’s newer buildings are LEED-certified, which means they are mostly built with green technologies. Some of the factors that are up for consideration, location, transportation, sustainable sites, water efficiency, energy/atmosphere, and indoor environmental quality, among a few other factors.
In the last few years, Houston has become one of the fastest to adopt green construction practices, placing number five in 2015 and the number 10 spot in 2016.
